NCPA and Junoon are hosting a range of workshops and plays for children in all parts of the city. Shaili Sathyu (email gillo.gilehri@gmail.com for details) has announced a wonderful initiative offering highly subsidised tickets to children of NGO's. NCPA will also be hosting Ananda - A Hindi Theatre festival and Summertime at Prithvi is ready to entertain children of all ages! Thespo's Dramabaazi is off to a wonderful start and from the sound of it, the kids are teaching the adults a thing or two about performing on stage! Natyashastra to be recreated in simple audio-visual form by young upcoming director

“NATYASHASTRA” “Natyashastra, considered as the fifth Veda, believed to be the supreme scripture of theatre arts, was created thousands of years ago by Bharat Muni who imbibed the core of all the four Vedas with the inspiration by Lord Brahma himself.” Indian theatre is completely unimaginable without Natyashastra, but today's theatre artistes,playwrights and theatre technicians do not seem to have any understanding of it. Natyashastra was written in the Sanskrit language in the poetic narration style. Though it has been translated to many Indian and foreign languages by many scholars,it has not become as popular in the theatre world as it should rightfully have beem. Director Sanjeev Sharma, who plays to make the Natyashastra more accessible to the common man, believes that the Natyashastra should be presented in audio visual format because theatre is an audio visual medium itself.
