Mumbai, October 7’ 2011 - The first ever Comic Con Express, the travelling version of the Indian Comic Con, the national Indian Comics Convention will be held at the World Trade Centre, Cuffe Parade in Mumbai from 22-23rd October, 2011 between 10am- 8pm. The event will have stalls exhibiting, promoting and selling comics, graphic novels, merchandise etc. The event would have several workshops and interactive sessions with established people from comics and related industries, previews of films, animated features and various contests organized by participants and sponsors, on both the days of the event. In response to the demands of Comic fans from across the country, this year a traveling version of Comic Con India called Comic Con Express is created with the aim to support and boost the comics industry by increasing local interaction and participation. Comic Con Express is all set to enthuse audience in Mumbai with the wide range of Products that its participants plan to offer. “Fans and Visitors in Mumbai will surely have a gala time as COMIC CON EXPRESS is planning a whole slew of activities ranging from workshops to interactive sessions, display and sale of a wide range of comics & merchandise, special corners for creating comics and cartoons, Cosplay, Contests, Book launches and lots more”, says, Jatin Varma, Founder, Twenty Onwards Media and Comic Con India. Comic Con India is a unique event celebrating the illustrated medium, which brings together the whole comics industry and related fields such as Merchandise, Toys, Games, Films and Animation, along with fans of this culture from all age groups. In February, 2011, India's First Ever Comics Convention, was organised at Dilli Haat in New Delhi. With over 50 participants including 35 exhibitors, 21 workshops and 7 new titles being launched, the 2-day convention was a tremendous success in bringing together artists, writers, publishers and fans of the industry from all across India. With over 15,000 visitors and sales exceeding 25 lakhs in just two days, the convention has really turned around the Comics scene in India.
